Downtown Boise’s newest development blends the fabric of existing historical buildings with an extension of the culturally vibrant North End neighborhood. Conveniently located at 15th Street and Grove, the Linen District currently has a mix of established retail stores and service oriented businesses. The future plans for the area will include a unique blend of commercial office space, local and regional retail stores as well as an urban residential area. The development will attract the creative professionals who are looking for both an urban workplace and lifestyle. The District is named after the anchor building of the area, the old American Linen Building, which occupies the northwest corner of 14th and Grove Streets, 1402 West Grove Street, in downtown Boise. Redevelopment is currently underway at two other key buildings. The Furness Building located at 1407 West Grove and the Goodyear Building located at 1515 West Grove.
The Linen District will be unlike anything Downtown Boise has seen. From one of a kind retailers to North End style urban residential living opportunities to creative office designs to incorporating “green” practices in developing buildings and infrastructure, this exciting new development will be a catalyst for future revitalization of the Westside District of Downtown Boise. The Linen District will be the hub of this expansion along with the proposed new convention center, Capital Station, and the Capital City Development’s plan for the major urban space, the 14th Street Village.
