Boise, ID - The guys of Motorflower have come a long way. They've been friends since they were kids growing up in the
Treasure Valley, and are now recording a music video right here in Boise.
"You can't pretend," said Adam Schroeder, with the band Motorflower. "If you pretend everyone knows."
There's no acting with Motorflower. Thom Keithly, John Paul, Stephen Hall, and Adam Schroeder are true musicians.
"The stuff we do is really easy to get behind," said Hall. "We really what we're doing."
Their songs are based on real life experiences. They played the song "6:45" for us at the Visual Arts Collective. "6:45"
is about a man always being left in the morning.
"Just that feeling of bitterness, remorse, pain of having a lover leave you," explained Keithly. "The guy gets to the point where
he's had enough and is like 'just go!'."
Hopefully they don't have to worry about that anymore, because the guys have settled down, and they say that only makes
them more intertwined.
"We're all at the same place in life with families, jobs, kids, and we all take this very seriously," said Keithly. "It's hard to find
people that have this much commitment to music at this point."
The bond they have has held them together since 2000, even surviving a recent breather. They say their bond and friendship
can outlast anything, and that really is what sets them apart and has lead to their success.
"We were friends first and I think that makes for really good chemistry in a band," said Hall.
"I think we have the same outlook on how we express ourselves musically," said Paul. "It's great because we can write and
feed off each other... we're friends."
"It's one of those things that's really hard to find, you can't replace, if one of us left it wouldn't be the same," said Schroeder.
This Saturday, June 6th, is the taping of Motorflower's music video. Wirestone is behind the production. The director, and band,
want everyone to come down to the Linen Building and take part in the video!
"We're just hoping friends, family, and just anyone that knows any of these guys will come out," said Brad Mitchell, director of the video.
"They've been around Boise for a long time, and if you come down it will be a great time!"
"It's going to be one of those things that isn't just a concert but an experience to see how videos are made," said Schroeder.
"Plus, you can party with us!"
The party is free! It starts at 7pm this Saturday at the Linen Building, which is located on 14th and Grove in Boise. A DJ will get things
warmed up, followed by Steve Fulton at 9pm. Motorflower will start recording their video at 10pm.
